Here we are!

Those of you who know us...know that Mike and I met and started our "not dating" relationship way back in 1994 at good old Hume Lake camp. Right from the start we were able to talk...not just chat, but deep soul searching, heart connecting talks. I can honestly say that we have been talking about our future, our family and life dreams since then. I can't believe how lucky I am to have him, and I know I am blessed to be married to my best friend. Cheesy, I know-but Mike and I have always been lovey-dovey and I hope it forever stays that way!

Well, lots has happened in these last 17 years (wow, can't believe it has been that long!) I feel like we have explored a bit of the world together and explored who God is and the purpose of life together. We have had our faith tested, and have seen our faith grow. I feel like we have experienced some heartbreak and lots of joy on this journey to figure out who God is and what He would like our lives to look like. We look forward to reconnecting at a local church in our area.

We have a absolutely precious family and know that each of our 3 children is a miracle and a gift. Kensal Grace (8) is a sweet, sensitive, artistic soul...Mia Joy (6) is shy and mysterious, yet spunky and just draws people to her, Mikah Asher (4) is- well, passionate! He does everything 100 percent and loves to make people laugh. They are amazingly unique and so much fun!!!

We are currently both finishing up gaining medical skills/knowledge as we both went back to school to get RN degrees.  I currently get the privilege of coming along side families to be a part of the miracle of birth as a Labor & Delivery nurse. I have so much passion for this, I can't tell you how much I love supporting a family during this vulnerable time-amazing! Although it is a hard pace to keep up with as a functioning supportive momma who works nights and is only one supporting our family of five!

I look forward to when Mike is finished with school and is working again. I look forward to the possibility of one day staying home a little more and hopefully growing our family through an adoption. We have been talking about adoption since pre-kids...we believe that now is finally the time to start walking forward. We are not sure who or where this next precious child/children will come from or when it will happen. We are currently in contact with several international adoption agencies- specifically about Ethopian adoption. We have also started the domestic adoption interviewing process. We know that this will be a journey, we know that we will adore the blessing this child will be to our family. The kids already are picking out names they like...of course they all start with a M or a K-why ruin a good streak? :)

This is us in a nutshell right now, enjoying life- enjoy family. We are lucky to live so close to so much family- my parents, Mike's parents, Joe/Vani and kiddos. We look forward to a 2 week trip in August to visit my brothers and their families.

My hope is to be transparent on this blog-share life, vent, rejoice, and all the in between!
